Benoît Cœuré is a graduate of École polytechnique in Paris. He holds an advanced degree in statistics and economic policy of École nationale de la statistique et de l’administration économique (ENSAE) and a B.A. in Japanese. He has served in various international and domestic policy positions at the French Treasury and as a co-Chair of the Paris Club. He has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank since 1 January 2012.
Benoît Cœuré teaches international economics and economic policy at Sciences Po Paris. He has authored articles and books on economic policy, the international monetary system and the economics of European integration, including Economic Policy: Theory and Practice (Oxford University Press, 2010), Economie de l'euro (La Découverte, 2nd edition in 2009), and Dealing with the New Giants: Rethinking the Role of Pension Funds (CEPR, 2006).
